HORSES TO WATCH

By: AMERICAN TURF CLUB

MONMOUTH PARK

BIG IN THE GAME: Ran well to get up for the maiden score over maiden claimers and may

improve with a switch back to the turf.

BIG KAHUNA: Has high early speed and led into the stretch before tiring late to finish second.

Can go all the way with $10k claimers.

A BAG OF GOLD: Ran an improved race in his second start, showing more speed this time around

and holding well for third. Gets there with maidens next out.

RIVER POWER: Vied for the lead while racing between horses and hung in well for third against a

solid $25k claiming field.

SEVENTYFIVESOUTH: Chased the pace for a bit from the inside and but didn’t make a strong

impact finishing fourth. Was claimed and will improve with a stretchout in distance.

STANDSWITHAFIST: Has speed and backclass and chased the pace throughout finishing an even

third, tab.

STANLEY’S GIFT: Broke running from and outside post position and held well for the place spot

behind the favorite; gets there with $8k claimers.

ASFASTASSHECANNOW: Broke a tad slow and then rushed up to the leaders through swift fractions

only to tire in the drive. Maiden claimers are a good fit.

RONNET: Was taken back last out, had trouble on the turn and then came with a strong run to finish

second to the heavy favorite, follow.

VICTORY ALLEGED: Ran out of conditions last out, was bumped hard at the start and still finished

evenly for fourth. Follow back at the proper level.

BEST BET: SCHEDULE: Stretched out nicely in distance and just missed by a head in a small

stakes race. This filly has many options, turf or dirt.

LONGSHOT: DOWN THE SHORE: Was outrun early on and had traffic trouble when he finally did

get untracked; follow at a price.

CALDER

STORM FORCAST: Was away slowly, made a strong move into second only to flatten out late, try

this one back over a dry surface.

ELEGANT LIGHT: Chased the pace while racing three wide, made a slim lead in the stretch before

tiring to finish fourth at 30-1; tab with maidens.

FIESTY DUKE: Lived up to his name when he chased throughout and battled back for the place

spot; tab with $10k claimers.

SALTY’S HOME: Rallied off the pace while racing three wide and came with a solid run in the stretch

to score going away, follow.

VARADERO: Made a strong move into contention on the far turn but could not finish it off and tired

to fourth, follow.

SKIP PAST: Vied for the lead while racing on the outside and took over for an easy win. Repeats

with a similar effort.

ORBITED: Was off to a slow start last out and basically lost all chance chasing the pace to

nowhere; tab with a better start.

BEST BET: SILVER RAPT: Chased the pace from the inside, made the lead at the top of the stretch

but had to settle for the place spot, tab with a similar effort.

LONGSHOT: JOE WHAT: Closed some ground to get up for the place spot last out behind the

odds-on choice and must respect against $16k claimers.
