Sprang to life last time out when switched back to the turf for the maiden win in a race where he overcame a bad trip for the victory. Got claimed out of that race by Charlton Baker, who has won with 4 of his last 11 claims (36%). Castellano returns for the mount for the new barn, and this looks like a very reasonable spot up at the next level. Has stalking tactical speed, and should get a great trip in a race loaded with early speed.

#3 Vagabond

Plus play an exacta box w/#5 Spiga

#3 Vagabond hasn’t run a bad race in four starts so far against winners and is knocking on the door now in the second race back from the five-month layoff. Needed the last race and will improve enough to turn the tables on the horse that beat her last time and defeat the rest of the stragglers in this field.

Play in exacta box w/#5 Spiga, who also needed her last race last time out in what was her return from a six-month layoff for Christophe Clement at Keeneland against what amounted to a tougher field of allowance horses led by a repeat next-out winner. Onward and upward now in the return from the sidelines.
