Three loses in a row when placed in all the wrong spots at the wrong class levels. Today this horse switches back into an ideal spot, however, for trainer David Jacobson who has this horse back on the dirt and down at a claiming level where she can have success. The two most recent wins came in dirt races, either beating better horses than these, or the same horses as these.

#4 Inside Straight

Plus play an exacta box w/#1 Papa Shot

#4 Inside Straight owns 7 career wins including a win here at Belmont and at far flung tracks all over the place in a variety of races, but was never better than he was recently when winning the G2 Oaklawn Handicap with ease. Had no chance last time, especially with an extremely poor start, when beaten in the G1 Met Mile, but fits like a glove in this easier stakes spot and should cruise with something close to his “A” effort. Will get a great stalking trip in this race that is overloaded with early speed.

Play in exacta box w/#1 Papa Shot, who is another horse in this race that should get a great trip pace-wise by being able to stalk off what figures to be a fast and hotly-contested pace. Sprang to life last time right here at Belmont with a big 13-length win in his career-best race, and obviously will be a handful again today of able to repeat that effort.
