#8 Silver Shaker

Plus play an exacta box w/#1 Magical Sky

#3 Silver Shaker ran third off a three-month layoff last time out for trainer Chad Brown, coming from off the pace to gain ground despite traffic troubles in the stretch run. Castellano takes over, as does Chad Brown usually at this point of the Saratoga season in turf routes. Should not be denied for the top connections given a clean start.

Play in exacta box w/ #1 Magical Sky, who has been knocking on the door vs. turf maidens for trainer Mark Casse, who was ice cold earlier in the Saratoga meet but has heated up considerably in the last week+. Should get a good ground-saving trip from the rail and will benefit from the added distance with this stretchout to 1 3/16^th miles. Best last-race speed figure in this field, yet overlooked at 6-1 odds on the morning line.

Race 9

#2 Going for Broke

Looked good in return from an eight-month layoff last time out, just missing in a tough spot in the Shine Again Stakes at 7F. That race was just a sprint prep for Chad Brown, who stretches this horse out to a better distance and means business today. Likes Saratoga, all systems “go.”
