#5 Runaway Lute sprang to life last time in the second race back from the layoff with a big speed figure in defeat in what was nevertheless a sharp effort at 32-1 odds. Fast bullet workout since last race indicates continued fitness, and this horse has truly never been better and is ready to roll for the third start off the long layoff.

Play in exacta box w/ #6 Beyond the Green, who seeks to overcome a recent case of second-itis after three straight place finishes in longer races (now totaling 7 career seconds). In good form, owns a good bullet workout since last race indicating good fitness, and gets an interesting shake-up here with the cutback in distance to 7F.

Won well-bet career debut for trainer Kiaran McLaughlin, who rarely cranks up his horses for their first starts but then really goes to work on his horses for their second lifetime outings. That is good news for this horse and bad news for the rivals today, since this horse looked good last time in the first-out, wire-to-wire winner. Expect an even better and faster version of this horse to show up today at 6-1 odds on the morning line with Irad Ortiz aboard.
