#7 Desirous was mis-matched at the 6F distance last time at Saratoga because that track offers no one-mile races. Returns to best one-turn, one-mile distance here today, however, and romped to victory two races ago right here at Belmont when last entered at this trip.

Play in exacta box w/ #6 Iwishirish, who needed several chances to get her maiden win, but finally graduated in style last time out at Saratoga with a five-length victory when stretched to 7F for the first time. In good form, Irad Ortiz keeps the mount, has speed figures that stack-up against this field, and should enjoy the added furlong today at this one-mile distance.

Race 8

#6 Epping Forest

Tough field today but this horse has been super sharp in all four of the recent races, including a second-place finish last time at Saratoga behind a very good winner in a similar stakes race.  Now returns to Belmont where she is a horse for the course on this turf with 3 wins from 4 career outings including 2-for-2 at this distance.  Perfect stalking running style for today’s race should get a good set-up from two speed horses battling up front.
