The 1 ¼-mile race was too far last time and this horse flopped, but the prior turf races were good and the cutback to today’s distance will make all the difference for this horse in what will be a strong positive turnaround. Knocking on the door at Belmont and Saratoga at 1 1/16th miles, and this field, make up of plodders, is much easier than the ones he ran second and third against.
