#6 Broken Engagement

No dice on the turf last time but now returns to the dirt today for trainer Rudy Rodriguez. Facing non-stakes company on the dirt for the first time since winning at Belmont back in June. Since then, this horse ran in NY-bred stakes including the $250k New York Derby where he came in second to NY divisional leader Twisted Tom. Owns the tactical speed to give him the edge on the other favorite, and a significant class edge over the rest of this field.

#10 Factoring

Plus play an exacta box w/#12 Cleo

#10 Factoring ran second against higher-priced claimers at Saratoga two races ago before stepping up against tougher open maidens last time. Now drops back down against maiden claimers and should prove too tough at a mile down at this class level.

Play in exacta box w/ #12 Cleo, who threw in a clunker last time when stuck in traffic for Bill Mott, but had shown some ability in earlier races, particularly a third-place finish at this level at Saratoga when beaten only a length by better horses. Needs to run back to her best effort for a chance for the upset.
