You can poke holes on most of the main contenders in this field, either as horses returning off layoffs, horses that prefer off tracks, or horses that always lose and settle for second. And then there is this horse, a 5-time career winner at 20-1 odds on the morning line who is loaded with speed and worth a shot to shake loose up front at a nice price amongst a field of iffy rivals.

#9 Son of Mine did nothing in two tries at one-mile and now thankfully cuts back in distance to a much more appropriate sprint trip today. The last time this horse entered a sprint was here at Aqueduct three races ago with a very good third-place effort in a race where he missed the break and lost all chance at the start. With a good break and cutting back to 6 1/2F today, this horse looks like a surprise package.

Play in exacta box w/ #1 Lightning Buzz, who fits well at this level and usually runs good races, but rarely wins. Owns speed figures that are better than these so he is certainly capable of winning, but always settles for second and seems like a perfect candidate for exacta boxes.
