#6 Stag of Sylvia lost against maiden special weights last time, but ran a solid effort two races ago when last seen in against maiden claimers, and will benefit from the class drop here today. Best finish was third in a turf race, and a repeat of that effort would be enough to beat today’s competition.
Play in exacta box with #11 Tammany Giant, who has improved in the last two outings since switching into turf sprint races, and looms the most logical contender in the exacta boxes with Irad Ortiz picking up the mount. The second-place finish at 7F last time out was a career best for this horse, who is trending now toward the maiden victory.
