Good speed figures stack up well against this field and finished a solid second last time out. Has good tactical speed and looms a contender at value odds or 9-2 on the morning line.

Plus play exacta box w/ #6 Tammany Giant
#8 Throw the Dice takes the big maiden class drop finally from maiden special weights in versus maiden claimers and adds blinkers with Irad Ortiz keeping the mount after some competitive races against better, including last time when the horse’s chances were hurt by a bad start. Speed figures point him out as the one to beat versus these.
Play in exacta box with #6 Tammany Giant, who has had plenty of chances at this level but meets mostly a bad field and has speed figures that put him right at or near the top of the heap here at value 12-1 odds on the morning line. Ran a solid second-place finish at 7F here at Belmont two races ago, and the third-place horse behind him in that race came back to win his next start. Will be tough if able to repeat that recent good effort.
