#10 La Cat Warrior returned from a year+ layoff and needed a
race, but then improved last time out and is ready for further improvement
today in the third start back from the long layoff. Benefitted from the
blinkers on last time, gets in 5 pounds light, not entered to be claimed, and
is much stronger than the 10-1 morning line odds suggest.
Play in exacta box with #7 Suas, who hasn’t been worse than
second in four straight races including a second-place finish last time in the
first time out against winners in an allowance at this level. Going good since
the addition of blinkers and is consistently solid for trainer Rudy Rodriguez
and jockey Irad Ortiz.

#10 Chic N Wilbur
Win machine on dirt and
synthetic tries turf for the first time in his career in the first chance he’s
had after racing at race meets without grass. Won 5 races in a row, including
three on artificial tracks, and usually horses that handle the artificial
surfaces like turf. Jose Ortiz sees enough to pick up the mount despite the
15-1 morning line odds, which are ridiculous on a horse like this with 10
career exacta finishes in 14 lifetime starts capable of putting up a speed
figure high enough to win this race.
