#3 Zulu Alpha exits a Grade 3 win in the Sycamore at
Keeneland going a mile and a half, and has never been in better form than right
now with two straight wins with very good speed figures both times. Facing a
field today no better than the ones he trounced at a marathon distance last
time over less-than-firm turf.
Play in exacta box with #4 Golope Americano, who probably
will be the horse to beat if this race is moved off the turf, but can also be a
surprise package at 20-1 odds even if this race stays on the grass. Needed his
last race in his North American debut after arriving from South America, and
now has a great chance to strut his stuff for trainer Todd Pletcher with Jose
Ortiz board. Likes an extended distance and less-than-firm turf and is ready to
roll in his second start off a seven-month layoff.
Race 9
#6 No Hitter
Needed the past race off an
eight-month layoff but received a needed tune-up and is ready to improve enough
to win today in the second race off the layoff against a weak field. Jose Ortiz
picks up the mount in a positive sign of trainer intent, and all he needs to do
to prevail is get this horse out to a good start after the horse had trouble at
the break last time out.
