SPOT PLAYS
BELMONT
Race 1
#3 Maimo
Tired late at 7F last time and this slight cutback to 6 1/2F
seems just perfect for this horse. Has speed and based on that last race he
seems to be back in form. Should get to the lead in here and be tough to catch.
Race 5
#1 Keota
Plus
play exacta box w/#5 Ladrona
#1 Keota has
run only one race since January and it was in a much tougher allowance spot.
Now returns in a softer nw3l claiming event and gets back on the Belmont turf
course, which was the site of both of her career victories.
Play in
exacta box with #5 Ladrona, who needs to rebound from a sub-par effort last
time out, but will be tough to beat or at least keep out of the exacta today if
able to run back to the second-place finish in a tougher spot two races ago at
Gulfstream in March. Versatile from a pace perspective as a horse that can go
to the lead or stalk off the pace.
