looking good off back-to-back wins for trainer Chad Brown, including a January
allowance race at Gulfstream and then a similar claiming race here at Saratoga
last time out. Clearly has top connections and likes Saratoga based on three
exacta finishes in three races here so far. In career-best form, earned this
field’s top last race speed figure, and has a pace advantage in this race as a
stalker in a field otherwise loaded with early speed that should guarantee him
a beneficial fast pace.

Davey lost to a runaway winner last time out after graduating with an
impressive maiden win the time before by four lengths when geared down at the
finish. It will take a monster effort to beat him here like the one that beat
him last time, but that will be difficult for any of the horses in this field
to be able to muster.
Play in
exacta box with #5 Quickflash, who got squeezed back at the start and then was
used hard early in the race to regain position but ran out of gas due to those
early efforts to finish third, just a nose out of second. Tends to settle for
place, but the form and speed figures have been steadily improving in the
recent races, and a breakthrough to win is possible. If not, he shouldn’t be
out of the exacta once again.
