Threepointninenine improved a lot last time out in his second career start with
a switch to a turf sprint for the first time, showing good speed and leading
much the of the until getting passed late and settling for fifth despite losing
by less than two lengths. The big difference today is the projected pace of
this race, which is non-existent and should leave this horse as the best and
possibly lone speed in the race. Should go to the lead and go all the way.
Play in
exacta box with #6 Boom Boom Kaboom, who finally dropped down in class from
maiden special weights versus maiden claimers last time out, but flopped due to
an unsuccessful blinkers on experiment that seems to have cost this horse its
best effort. Blinkers immediately come back off today, and he’s a legit win or
exacta contender in this spot with a repeat of his most recent non-blinker
race, which was only a 2 1/4 –length loss against better horses at a higher
class level.

Went
wire-to-wire to win last time out after setting legitimate fractions in a race
here at Saratoga at a similar class level. The speed was a new dimension last
time for this horse, who in the past had been a proven winning stalker. Speed
figure stacks up well against the horses in today’s field. Got claimed last
time out and goes first out for high-percentage trainer Danny Gargan, who wins
with a giant 50% of his runners first time off the claim.
