Had sharp
3yo form in NY-bred stakes races and now is making his way back from the
sidelines for Linda Rice after a pair of layoffs. Needed a race here earlier in
the meet off a five-month layoff, and will benefit from that return race and be
tough to beat today with a return to form anywhere close to last year when he
won three NY stakes races ranging from 6F to 7F.

Melania never runs a bad race and has scored three wins since stretching to
turf routes, including graded stakes wins at Keeneland and Belmont to go along
with her maiden win here at Saratoga last season. Looked excellent last time in
the 3yo debut off a layoff, winning the Wonder Again (G3) wire to wire for
Pletcher. Speed figures stake up well vs. these, and she’s ready to improve even
further.
Play in
exacta box with #8 Selflessly, who needs to improve off of a sub-par 3yo debut
last time out when beaten by Sweet Melania, but she will be a potential overlay
at 6-1 on the morning line for Chad Brown with Irad Ortiz aboard. Won the Miss
Grillo (G2) over good horses last year and was 5th in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile
