#5 Breaking the Rules came back from a long layoff
looking better than ever in both recent starts, which were impressive back-to-back
wins here and at Belmont. Two races ago beat next-out winner Digital Age, and
then last time defeated the likes of Therapist and earned a big speed figure in
the process. Tough to beat again with another similar effort.
Play in exacta box with #2 Largent, who never runs a bad
race and has never been out of the exacta in six career races with 4 wins and 2
seconds for trainer Todd Pletcher, who has enjoyed a tremendous meet. Went down
to Colonial Downs for a stakes win last time, and before that was tremendous at
Gulfstream during that track’s best season. It would be a big mistake to
overlook this horse, at least in the exactas.

Finished
third here in a stakes race last time out, beaten two lengths, and before that
was even more impressive when finishing second behind Yaupon, who came back and
won the Amsterdam Stakes. Has had a lot of chances, but has sneakily gotten
better recently and has never been better than he is right now. Drops into a
very winnable allowance spot today and is ready to get over the hump finally at
this level.
