Kringle hasn’t won for a while but has been knocking on the door with
consistently solid efforts and in the money finishes against mostly better
competition including a third in the Grade 2 Pennine Ridge Stakes. Owns the
best last-race speed figure in this field, but probably won’t be favored.
Play in exacta
box with #2 Danfusi, who owns loads of early speed and looms a threat to go
wire-to-wire if not kept in check, which might be easier said than done. Got KO’d
in a speed duel two races ago, but came back with a solid second-place finish
last time out to lose by a length against a horse that would hands down be
favored against this field while finishing ahead of the third-place horse who
was a next-out winner.

#8 Our Troubadour
This horse’s
best races have been turf sprints, including the maiden win which came right
here at Belmont at this distance. Gained ground behind a slow pace last time
but couldn’t win the race that favored front runners, but did get within 2
lengths. Turf sprint speed figures are better than these, and he is a huge
overlay on the morning line odds of 10-1. Likes Belmont and likes the distance.
