#6 Prince of Cups gets another
crack at a turf win at the $40k claiming level, and the third time should be
the charm today against a beatable field. Failed last time in a tough draw from
post 11 of 12 in a two-turn Saratoga turn route, but now looks better here at
Belmont based on the career-best outing here two races ago when he ran second
off a three-month layoff with a solid speed figure. Should beat these if able
to repeat that Belmont turf outing versus these.
Play in
exacta box with #1 Souper Energizer, who has been knocking on the door vs. maidens
for most of this year, both on the turf and on artificial surfaces. Again takes
the big maiden class drop down from maiden special weight to maiden claimers
today, and finished second in an earlier try versus maiden claimers back during
the toughest portion of the Gulfstream meet. Hit the board in both recent tries,
picks up Johnny V. for the mount, and owns a mullet workout recently which
indicates continued good fitness.

Was passing
horses last time at 6F, which seemed like a distance that was too short, and he
should benefit the most in this race from the added distance today at 7F, which
happened to be the distance of this horse’s only career win. Draws a prime
outside post in first start off the claim for turf sprint queen Linda Rice, and
gets Irad Ortiz aboard.
