again and take this field wire-to-wire.

#7 Blue Gator has begun his career
2-for-2 win a maiden win at first asking at Belmont followed by a $208k stakes
victory at Finger Lakes last time out, so obviously he fits perfectly back in
this NY-bred stakes spot at the same 6F distance of both wins. Still improving,
and owns good tactical speed but doesn’t need the lead to win.
Play in
exacta box with #4 Eagle Orb, who rebounded with a solid second-place stakes
finish last time out at one-mile in the Sleepy Hollow after a sub-par effort in
the outing before. Also stakes placed three races ago at Saratoga with a
second-place finish in the 6 1/2F Funny Cide behind repeat next-out winner Thin
White Duke. Cutting back to 6F, but that could turn out to be more of a
positive than a negative, because it will put him in a good pace-pressing spot
at this distance.
