#1 Vitesse needed a race last
time out off a four-month layoff and settled for fourth at this level and
distance, but can improve here in the second race off the layoff. Speed figures
stack up nicely against this field. Should be motoring late.
Play in
exacta box with #9 Beachside, who drops in class after throwing in a clunker
last time out for the David Donk barn, which struggled all through the Belmont
season but is suddenly rejuvenated at Aqueduct. This horse’s lone career
victory was here at Aqueduct. Fits well vs. these based on his better recent
races.
Race 8
#2 Bears Mafia
All he does
is win with 6 straight victories now after the winning streak survived the move
downstate from Finger Lakes to Belmont. The thing about all the wins is that
they aren’t even close, with no horses getting to within shouting distance of
this horse at the finish. Will face a stiff challenge in this race from Take of
the Union, but should be able to keep winning based on the speed and quality of
his last race.
