This horse
has developed into a stakes caliber kind of horse and it being disrespected at
5-1 odds on the morning line. The stakes race granted was for Florida breds,
but it still was a solid second-place finish in a 10-horse field which followed
an eight-length maiden win the race before. Improving young horse should not be
overlooked. First time Lasix.

#12 Simply the Best faced much
tougher when last seen in a Belmont turf sprint and finished a promising 3rd
with a solid speed figure. Goes out for red-hot trainer Danny Gargan, who is
9-for-21 at the GP meet so far for 43%. Adds first-time Lasix, and pairs with
jockey Vasquez, who has won 3 of 4 mounts for Gargan in the jockey/trainer
combo at Gulfstream.
Play in
exacta box with #8 Speeding, who lives up to her name as a fast sprinter who
will be trying to go wire-to-wire. Early speed is definitely the running style
you want in GP turf sprints, and this horse also adds first-time Lasix and gets
Jose Ortiz to ride. Got nipped late last time at 6F, but at 5F today she is a
major threat to go all the way.
