#3 Monte Ne has improved nicely
since switching to turf sprints two races ago with the maiden win and then a
solid second last time out with a career-high speed figure that indicates
continued improvement. Has the necessary tactical speed to race a length or two
off the pace and will be tough to deny with a repeat of his last effort. Got
claimed by Kelly Breen, and this barn does exceptionally well off the claim
with a 32% win rate.

box with #1 Putman, who couldn’t hack it against maiden special weights but won
in sharp wire-to-wire fashion last time out when dropped back in against maiden
claimers. Now lands at the proper n2l claiming class level for this realistic
attempt to make it two wins in a row. Handled this 5F turf sprint trip here at
Gulfstream and looms speed and the rail as the one to catch.

#8 Crystalle
Blinkers
experiment failed last time so the blinkers some off and this horse gets
another shot at a realistic class level after meeting much better two races
ago. Also had an excuse three races ago when he needed a race off an extended
layoff, and wasn’t done any favors last time when he got off to a disastrous
start that left him way too far behind. Should benefit from the added turf
distance today. All systems go.
