Oaklawn for trainer Broberg, who entered this horse in a Remington allowance
last time out but now returns to claiming competition today. Exits a clear and
respectable second-place finish by a length, and is a 6F specialist in fine
form at present at 8-1 odds on the morning line.

Plus play exacta box w/#7 Caddo River
#3 Cowan is the horse to beat in
the opening day feature, the Smarty Jones, coming off a clear second last time
out in the Springboard Mile. Speed figures looks strong versus the rest of
today’s field and the first stretchout to this one-mile distance was solid. Expect
him to go further and faster today.
Has talent based on the runner-up finish in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf
Sprint, and just worked a bullet here at Oaklawn.
