Strange loss
in career debut for Todd Pletcher last time, stalking the pace early before
falling far back in the field and losing position that he couldn’t recover at
7F. Now stretches to a route race in a smaller field with Irad Ortiz back
aboard with fast workouts. Many of these maidens from this barn who don’t
graduate first time out then get the job done the second-time around.
Race 10
#7 Tusk
Plus play exacta box w/ #3 Remember the Maine
#7 Tusk drops all the way down in
class and looms a legit favorite at this softer class level after finishing
seventh, but losing by only two lengths last time out. Past graded stakes
winner here on this turf course a year ago exits other stakes races. Blinkers
come back on after an experiment without them last time. Suspicious drop but
nevertheless probably too good versus these.
Play in
exacta box with #3 Remember the Maine, who is a longshot on the morning line at
20-1 who should add value to the exacta boxes along with the favorite. Earned a
solid speed figure two races ago at this level and then basically had no chance
last time out when buried in traffic in a terrible trip. Just needs clear
sailing for a chance to hit the exactas.
