#5 Know How needed a
race last time off of an eight-month layoff at Gulfstream, and ran a solid
effort for fourth when not beaten too much versus maiden special weights. Owns
the top last-race speed figure amongst this bunch, and is poised to improve
here in the second off the layoff.
Play in exacta box with #9 Bitten
By Kitten, who makes her second career start off of a third-place finish in the
debut in a turf route race at Keeneland. Trainer Wesley Ward excels in turf
sprints, so this cutback in distance to a sprint is a positive instead of a
negative. Ward is racking up high-percentage winning numbers at the meet, and
this horse is knocking on the door and getting ready to graduate.
#9 Mystic Night
improved strongly in each career race so far, and really got good on the main
track this winter for trainer Chad Brown, reeling off a pair of big wins at
Aqueduct including an allowance win with a big speed figure last time out. Will
continue to win with similar efforts.
