outings in a couple of turf sprints to begin her career for high-percentage
winning trainer Wesley Ward, and probably would have been favored to win one of
those kind of races here at Saratoga, but instead Ward stretches this horse out
in a positive sign of winning trainer intent with Jose Ortiz keeping the mount
and forming a 50% (5-for-10) jockey-trainer combo with Ward at Saratoga. Cosy
rail draw. Ward wins 34% in the second start off of this horse’s kind of layoff,
and 23% stretching out from sprints to routes with a positive ROI.

#10 Summer in the City sat
the dirty-work trip in comeback race off an 11-month layoff, chasing a loose
leader and fading to fourth. Will benefit from the two return races for
Pletcher and today will benefit from the class relief in versus nw2 claimers. Irad
stays, and expect him to keep this horse dangerous and withing striking distance
early against this easier competition.

Princess Pinky, who got knocked around at the break to spot the field a
several length head start, but then still managed to outrun 11-1 odds for
second when looking much improved with the switch to the grass. Tends to settle
for second or third a lot, but she’s a win contender in this spot based on that
last race, and certainly worth putting in your exacta boxes.
