Has tactical speed but a disaster break
from the gate last time cost this horse any chance at the win in the G1 Woody
Stephens at Saratoga. Recovered to run a giant effort in defeat when able to
rally for second. Now he just needs a clean start to turn the tables and get
the win.

Dornoch
#2 Sierra Leone suffered a tough defeat by a head in the Kentucky
Derby after a tougher trip than the winner and since has fallen short at his
chance at redemption behind Dornoch in the Belmont Stakes. It’s now or never in
the Travers, which is his best chance so far to come out on top so far. This is
a closer that can benefit from this 1 ¼-mile distance in a race that has enough
speed in it, and this year’s Travers is loaded with front runners including the
filly Thorpedo Anna, who will add more than enough pace to the mix to help
Sierra Leone’s chances to win.
Play in exacta box with #7 Dornoch, who has blossomed into the top
3yo in the country this year based on wins in the Belmont Stakes and the
Haskell Stakes in his last two starts. He is as game and as gallant as they
come, he has speed, and he’s proven at this track and distance. He’ll be tough
to beat and even tougher to keep out of the exactas.
