Horses to Watch

ARLINGTON

ACTSCUSE: Was chasing the pace throughout and finally tired in the stretch to finish fifth.

Offers value at the windows versus NW2L claimers.

AWESOMEWITHBROADS: Battled head to head through 5/8’s of a mile and understandably tired in

the drive to finish fifth. Will benefit from an easier pace scenario.

ERICA’S MONEY: Came rallying late to finish an up-close third behind two longshots. Will benefit

greatly from some pace up front.

ILLINOIS MOONSHINE: Was a pace factor throughout solid fractions and must be used next out

at a big price.

SKIPEROO: Closed good ground in the stretch to finish a solid third on the turf. Follow this three

year old back on the lawn.

SLIDE TO GLORY: Set the pace from a tough outside post and was still in the mix at the top of the

stretch. Only missed the place spots by two heads and a neck.

YA LAJWAAD: Scored an easy wire to wire victory over maiden foes and hails from top barn that is

looking to bigger and better things.

YOU’RE A MONKEY: Was in the middle of the pack and then made a bid for the lead before flattening

out badly in the drive. Don’t give up on this one especially at a price.

4PSPECIAL: SHIMMERING SEA: Was the only one left standing out of the pace challengers

and just got beat a head on the wire. Should score over NW2L $10k claimers.

LONGSHOT: LAST EPOCH: Was up close throughout and only started to tire very late in the drive losing

by a length at 37-1; price play.

NORTHERN CAL FAIRS

CHEER THE SCORE: Woke up in his latest start with a third-place finish after getting beaten

by 29 lengths in his previous outing. Potential upsetter at the bottom level.

COLLECT THE GOLD: Just missed by a nose at 59-1 in his third start since shipping in from Turf

Paradise. You won’t see those odds again, but should still get a decent number.

FIND A WAY: Is 0-for-27 lifetime, but found a way to run third at 34-1 last time out. Six-year-old

Arabian is worth a small play.

HAJJI BABA: Current form is better than it looks. Bound to get his first win since last November.

KOURI JILL: Really got it going since breaking maiden June 15. Finished third July 11, then won

a $6k claimer last out July 25. Worth a long look.

LIL BARHOP: Lifetime record isn’t all that great, but she does finish in the mix at prices including

a second last time at 13-1. Steps up to the plate.

MISS ALAMO: Woke up two starts back with a third-place finish at 38-1. Very capable of rounding

out a big exacta; be there.

RAZEN HAZEN: Sprinted clear early, set fast fractions (:21 3/5 & :44 3/5) and never looked back

in his debut. Ready for winners right back.

REBELETTE: Set a quick pace July 25, ducked in at the eighth pole and held on for third. Like this

speedy filly a lot.

SCUSI: Ran an even race in her first attempt versus winners. Won’t be facing any champions at the

$6k claiming level.

SIMPLY MAGICAL: Ran a good race July 25 at 12-1. Dueled, took a short lead and held well

for third. Graduation day is coming for this daughter of Simply Majestic.

TRIBELLISTIC: Shipped in from Southern California June 13 and pulled off the upset at 20-1.

Didn’t do much last out facing winners for the first time, but must be followed at a price.

WATCHTHISANGELFLY: Sent off at 5-2 in her bow, she showed brief speed then threw in the

towel and finished eighth. Learns from that experience.

ZENDA’S BONUS: Broke in a tangle and never factored in his debut. Still worth giving this juvenile

another look second time around though.

4PSPECIAL: TEANAWAY ROSE: Has two decisive wins and a second out of four

starts this season. Wesley Ward trainee is firing on all cylinders.

LONGSHOT: SICNEE: Faced better in Dubai, but hasn’t adjusted to the Northern California

scene yet. Expecting better in his third start since shipping in.
