HORSES TO WATCH
By: AMERICAN TURF CLUB
WOODBINE
LIT DE JIMMY: Speedy mare has now run second twice in a row, most recently chasing the even money favorite from start to finish, can lead gate to wire next out.
MRSJEFFERSON: Made a good middle move to get into contention last out but faded late to finish third, follow right back in third start of form cycle.
NOTINTHECONTRACT: Five year old gelding closes from well back but most recent effort when finishing second at 36-1 was solid, get on board at a price.
PAT’S EXPECTATION: Seven year old gelding with a ton of backclass showed improved speed on the drop before tiring to finish fifth, should be tighter in third start back off the layoff.
TIMBER DOE: Firster by RUNNING STAG put in a decent effort in her career debut finishing third after chasing the pace from the start, next time.
TOUGH LINGO: Ran a much improved race with the blinkers added and the stretchout in distance holding on well for third at 55-1, can wire maiden claimers next out.
4PSPECIAL: SILVER GUN: Took a slight drop down the claiming ladder last out and ran on well to finish well clear for second; should be set for best at this current level.
LONGSHOT: TWO FACE FLYER: Closed to finish third last out at 60-1 less than three lengths behind the winner and can only get better with that race off the layoff.
DELAWARE
CASH KING: His undefeated record at Delaware Park was broken when he got used up in a battle for the lead and tired to finish sixth, must respect with that solid record over the track.
HEAVENLY CREATION: Put in a big effort to finish second last out when dropping into maiden claimers, well bred three year old has an option on the turf also.
MOST CHARMING: The drop in class from allowance company into a $20k claimer helped as she finished a clear second behind the odds-on favorite, should be tough at the same level.
MUCHO MARGARITAS: Stretched out in distance for his second start after closing strongly for the win while sprinting first time out; give this one another shot, especially with a turnback into a sprint.
SIMPLY VALIANT: Dropped in class for her first try since shipping in from Oaklawn park but could only manage an even fifth. Should improve with that race under her belt and can be tough with maiden claimers, turf or dirt.
SMOOTH LOVER: Ran on for a good second last out in his first start off the Scott Lake claim and is a threat to go all the way next out.
4PSPECIAL: CONIFER CROWN: Was shuffled back early on in a five furlong race which was his career debut, swung out and then closed with a rush to finish second, he has a bright future ahead of him, solid.
LONGSHOT: GREY GOOSE KID: Stretched out to two turns last out, showed speed for ¾’s of a mile and then tired in the drive to finish seventh, a turnback suits for the powerful Lake barn.
