HORSES TO WATCH

By: AMERICAN TURF CLUB

ARLINGTON

BEWARE BABY: First time starter put in a huge effort in her career debut finishing second to a runaway winner and should graduate next out with a similar effort, follow.

EXPLOITED STORM: Ran on well for third last out in a race that went in 1:22:2 for seven furlongs and may be sitting on a win at a price, stay close.

GENTLEMEN’S CLUB: Has sharp early foot and always puts in an honest effort, most recent third while setting a solid pace was no different, respect this six year old gelding with lower level claimers.

GOLDEN LACES: Closed very well to finish second last out making that the fifth time in six tries that this horse have finished second. Isn’t long for this NW2L claiming condition and turf is also an option.

PIMPERNICK: Got away last of 10 most recently, settled in and then closed strongly for third, should be tough with NW2L claimers.

THE LAST SPY: Was never that far back off a solid pace while racing from the inside and finished up well for fourth just two heads off the place spot, tab at a price with NW2X statebreds.

4STARSPECIAL: MISS EXPECTATIONS: Ended 2005 with a huge 8 ½ length win over $8k claimers and returned to finish a solid second against $15k claimers coming off that five month layoff, five year old mare is set for a big year.

LONGSHOT: DON’T MAKE ME WAIT: Showed a much improved effort in his second try with winners when checking in third at 44-1, price play right back.

PIMLICO

BANDIT BABY: Chased leader and faded from contention when fourth in most recent start; speed at big odds – just our type.

BUGSY PARK: Made it three straight wins most recently, while remaining popular at claim box – this time moving to trainer Houghton; we see no reason to jump ship, do you?

DR. BEALLS PASSION: Hasn’t had much success since leaving maiden ranks four starts back, but we have gut feeling latest race over Pim strip will move her up; surprise package.

GREAT BRIDGE: Was outrun behind dominant winner in latest off-the-turf bid; gets back on best form in a hurry once back on sod.

I’VE GOT SPEED: Gained outside, but too little too late, when second most recently; in time next time.

INTENT OF A LADY: Rallied when willing for second behind double-digit length winner most recently; her turn next time off claim by trainer Rigattieri.

LADY OF SUMMER: Has underachieved thus far, including latest third-place finish at odds-on, but can show more for winning Ritchey barn; intrigued by daughter of El Corredor.

RHEA’S AMBITION: Battled on pace and then weakened late when it counted and faded to third as a result; improving trend continues.

SHINING HAWK: Got back on better form (long overdue) when a gaining second from wide spot into lane most recently; gets back in win column now.

TSARMINA: Sped clear early and lasted for third in what should prove a useful initial experience versus winners following belated maiden score in prior start; next time.

4STARSPECIAL:BRILLIANT PEAKS: Roughed up at the start, she then went in acceptable fashion for fourth in first start since late-March; primed for third start since last-October.

LONGSHOT: WARRIORINTHESKY: Blasted clear early and drifted late when tired, still holding third; game sort benefits from experience at route trip.
