HORSES TO WATCH
By: AMERICAN TURF CLUB
THISTLEDOWN
CURTIS LOWE: Has shown improved speed and staying power in each of his last two, most recently when a maiden winner; right back with winners given room for further development.
DAWN’S REVENGE: Managed a fairly even-going fourth in latest return from a two-month layoff, and should build upon experience; needs pace/race luck to set up late punch.
GATO MONTANES: Rallied mildly for third as the beaten favorite in his latest, and was claimed by trainer Sipp – proves worthwhile acquisition; stay on board.
LEVIS BEAU: Blasted clear early and weakened to fourth in career debut, but showed plenty of potential; also brings pedigree to handle most any task asked.
SON OF MARIAH: Dueled and weakened in his latest, but 8YO veteran brings plenty of speed and solid overall record; always room on our tickets for him versus cheapies.
WALL STREET DIVA: Has disappointed in her last couple but remains a factor with NW2L types, and can now score at a price; stay on board.
4STARSPECIAL: CHEATA PASSER: Rallied from well back to be up in the final strides as winning favorite in her latest; takes another in present form.
LONGSHOT: CODY MY MAN: Continues improvement after battling early and staying on for distant second in his latest; juvenile worth following.
WOODBINE
ARCHERS DREAM: Was away quickly from the gate last out, took pressure on the lead and held on well to finish second in a solid time.
BE ENVIED: Returned for a good second in her first try off a November layoff; she made a solid move just as the pace was heating up, follow right back with any kind.
BOLD LITTLE LASS: Raced well off the pace while racing wide and then came with a five wide run into the stretch to finish fourth despite moderate fractions, stay close.
BRIGHT STORM: Ran on well for third last out against NW2L $10k claimers and seems to be on the improve, will be very tough with a similar group right back.
SIX JIGGLES: Got the job done last out with a slight turnback in distance and must be respected right back off that sharp effort, stay close with $60k claimers.
WHISKEY SPECIAL: Got away last of seven and never picked up his feet despite encouragement by the jockey, give this one another shot over a track that is playing more evenly.
4STARSPECIAL: STRAIGHTLITTLELADY: Four year old filly returned nicely from an 11 month layoff last out with a solid fourth place finish after chasing the pace from the start, should be much tighter next out.
LONGSHOT: MISTURA: Shipped in from Fort Erie last out, showed solid early speed but tired late to finish third in her first try with winners, wires similar right back.
