HORSES TO WATCH

By: AMERICAN TURF CLUB

THISTLEDOWN

BULL O’KNEE: Chased throughout and simply couldn’t match strides in lane with dominant winner and settled for second; maiden score awaits.

CANADIAN FLYER: Grizzled veteran returned from May-layoff with late run for second in crowded group most recently; always room on our tickets.

GO KATHY: Posted very elusive maiden win with style in her latest, when able to secure front-running position at route; learning to win may agree with her going forward.

MAKE A MILE: Rallied well to pick up third in an improved effort most recently; a must-use in your exotics in lower-end claiming dashes.

POLITICAL JOY: Now has two races worth of valuable experience under his saddle and should continue forward progress; juvenile could be primed for more distance.

STILL VOICE: Chased on the pace early and then stayed on in even fashion for fourth most recently; race over course helps matters moving forward.

4STARSPECIAL: FIREY MALEK: Chased throughout and couldn’t mount much of a threat when fourth as the beaten favorite in latest; makes amends.

LONGSHOT: ANCIENT RULER: Rallied willingly late following a slow break and picked up third in his latest; gelding lived up to class test and is simply sharp right now.

LAUREL

BETTER THAN EVER: Returned from June-layoff and showed good early interest and stayed on for close fifth in his latest; all set now.

CHICAGO BILL: Showed a bit more early and overall interest than usual when fifth most recently; late-season turf surprise could be in order, so don’t miss out.

CLEAR THE BASES: Came up empty when a pretty even third in his latest; 5YO with some pedigree and a touch of back class proves useful $15K-claim for trainer Aguirre.

CRYPTO PRIME: Went well for fourth when trying to make up ground off slow early pace when meeting winners for the first time in latest; durable juvenile to follow.

MY BOY KYLE: Has been a bit off form in his last couple, but his overall resume allows us to look past that; 6YO gelding expected to jump back to better form.

PRINCE DE VIOLETTE: Raced just off the pace, took over, and held well for maiden score over 11 opponents at big tote ticket; right back.

REGALLY BRED: Began career on the right hoof taking her maiden by putting away pace challenges to score as the favorite in debut; regally bred, follow up in class.

SOME KIND OF MAGIC: Chased throughout and settled for third when appropriately spotted for latest; gelding benefits from race on strip and a spot on the early lead next time.

SUSAN KARAN: Rallied for third in her latest and overcame some traffic trouble in doing so; stamp diploma run past due at this point.

TOYMAKER: Chased the pace and weakened to fifth when making his first start since last-December most recently; son of Woodman ultimately proves best at route trip.

4STARSPECIAL: KAYLA’S SMILE: May have been in a bit steep in her latest yet still rallied well to finish a narrowly beaten fifth; primed.

LONGSHOT: FINE SHINE: Swung out in lane and showed belated interest for fourth on turn back in distance most recently; 4YO gelding now plenty sharp going forward.
