Horses To Watch

BELMONT

COLD CLAIM: Showed good speed and lasted until the stretch before tiring to

finish last. Look for a surface switch back to the dirt and a better result.

DELTA SEA: Was an even fourth last out and continues to improve with each start

on the turf. Stay with him at a price.

EYES WIDE OPEN: Took some money for her debut and ran on well until mid-stretch

before fading late in the drive. Try right back with similar.

FAVORITE SWEEP: Closed well for third against a very solid field of $50k claimers. Is in good

form, just needs to find a field that he can clear to the lead.

GRAM’S FOLLY: Made an even run to finish fifth in his first start off the Scott Lake claim. Should

benefit from a slight stretch to seven furlongs, tab.

HEATHER LIGHT: Scored nicely with a clean rail trip against $50k claimers and was claimed by

Dutrow Jr. barn. Tab right back.

INDIAN CARD: Was prominent throughout and made the lead in the stretch only to come up a

few lengths short.

KRISTYS EXCELLENT: Chased early but tired in the drive dropping back to finish 10 out of 11.

Was claimed back by Steve Asmussen and should be followed right back if he stays here.

LUZ LANE: Ran well to finish third last out in an off the turf race and is best suited to running

against New York breds on the turf.

MAKARUMBA: Could not make any impact against a very solid maiden special weight field; don’t

give up the price will be right.

MEADOW BELLE: Battled head to head for the lead and stayed on well for third in an

improved effort. Follow.

PEEKSKILL: Closed well to finish a close-up fourth and should be tough to beat off the LaBoccetta Jr.

claim. Follow.

POLAR SNOW: Was tipped around the racetrack for her career debut and finished an even fourth

last out. Bond will make the proper adjustments and she will be much improved next out.

POLISH: Flashed some speed in first try on the turf and finished an even fifth. Should fare well on

either surface right back.

RAMILLUS: Made a good run up the rail and just missed the place spot by a nose. Should improve

off that effort and is one to follow.

REIGN OF TARA: Tried the turf last out to no avail and finished a well beaten 8th. Look for a return

to the dirt and a try versus claimers.

SIRCHARLESSCHNABEL: Stalked the pace and then took over before drawing off to an easy score

in his first try on the turf. May have a future on that surface.

YEN: Well bred 2YO filly ran an ambitious race on the lead through some solid fractions and

tired in the drive. Needs a better rated ride.

4STARSPECIAL: HASTA LA VISTA: Was chasing the quick pace from her outside perch and gave

it up late in the drive. Should be much tighter next out for the Jimmy Jerkens barn.

LONGSHOT: CANDLELIGHT PRINCE: Had some trouble into the turn after breaking from

a tough post in first try on the turf. Will offer value next time on the turf.

PENN NATIONAL

HE’S ALL BUSINESS: Opened up a long lead and held it until the top of the stretch through 5/8’s

of a mile in 58:4. His seventh place finish will help the odds next out.

IFYOUVEGOTTHEMONEY: Closed the gap from six lengths to two lengths and was getting to the

leader. Fits with $4k claimers.

IRONA: Was off to a poor start but was closing very fast late in the drive. Follow with $4k

claimers.

LOUIE THE JET: Has some backclass and may be rounding back to form with his most recent fourth

at 96-1. Follow this one on the turf.

MARQUETRY RIDGE: Made up some ground in the stretch for a well beaten fourth at 36-1. A wet

track can help his cause.

SAVY MISS: Was up close to a blistering pace for that company and gave it up in the drive to

finish fifth. Try again with $8k claimers.

WINTER ESCAPE: Was a good third last out at 44-1 and may start to turn things around. The value

is there.

ZIGGY ZAGGY: Was slow early on, three wide on the turn and then made up good ground late to get

into third. Fits with conditioned $10k claimers.

4STARSPECIAL: HADIF’S LOVER BOY: Destroyed a field of NW4L $10k claimers and should move up

and score versus better next out.

LONGSHOT: HOLIDAY DOLL: Was up close to the pace throughout and only tired as they hit

the stretch. The price will be right, follow.
