HORSES TO WATCH

By: AMERICAN TURF CLUB

HAWTHORNE

CHIPOTLE: Chased the pace through the first quarter mile, took over the lead past the half but tired to finish third in the drive, follow with $8k claimers.

EL JEFE: Was up close early on, dropped back to fourth before coming on again to nail down the place spot; tab with straight three year old $10k claimers.

FLAMING FOREST: Lacked speed from his rail post last out, raced three wide into the lane while moving into second but didn’t have enough left and finished third behind the two favorites.

KISSIT: Closed some ground on the turn to move into second and was six lengths clear of the third place finisher last out while finishing behind the wire to wire winner, graduates with a similar effort.

MARNESIA BOY: Trailed the field of nine last out behind slow fractions when going off at 18-1 and closed strongly in the drive to finish second, a neck behind the winner.

4STARSPECIAL: KIAWAH LIGHT: Got away near the back of the pack early on but then closed strongly in the lane to score going away by more than five lengths over NW2L $10k claimers; can score with better.

LONGSHOT: TE QUIERO VIEJO: Raced at the back of the pack for most of the race, made a strong middle move to get into contention but flattened out in the drive for fourth.

TURF PARADISE

ALL TO INSPIRING: Was never that far back early on while chasing a quick early pace and tired a bit late for fourth, sharp now.

MISSANNALOUISE: Took the blinkers off last out over the turf, she settled in fifth before making a big move to take the lead into the stretch before tiring to finish third, tab with maidens on the turf.

NAB A COPY: Closed some ground in the lane to just miss the place spot by a length at 24-1, is a must use in all your exotics next out.

NITE WORKS: Shipped in from Emerald Downs last out, made a big move on the turf last out to get into contention but flattened out late for third.

PICK ME BUZZ: Made a big middle move to take the lead past the three quarter mark but didn’t have enough left and checked in third, be there at a price right back.

4STARSPECIAL: KIDEEAKEY: Despite breaking from the rail last out she had to come wide into the lane and it may have cost her the win as she checked in second, tab with $3.5k claimers.

LONGSHOT: ROYALE LAUNCH: Was right up on the quick early pace, took over that lead into the stretch but couldn’t hold on and tired late at 21-1; the price is right with $3.5k claimers.
