HORSES TO WATCH

By: AMERICAN TURF CLUB

LAUREL PARK

TIME STANDARD: Circled from last to gain third in short field most recently, when spotted at appropriate tag level; note, added plus she raced with front bandages off.

MORNING SKY: Rallied from wide spot to finish a close fourth in her most recent start, and can continue to move forward next time in third start of current form cycle; follow.

SUAVE LINE: Rallied outside but couldn’t get to winner when it counted and settled for second-best in her latest; proven check-getter has her turn at top prize next time.

LADY OF SUMMER: Rated a touch off pace, took over, and drew off to lengthy score to take second of her last three starts most recently; keeps on rolling.

KING OF THE SURF: Chased, hit traffic, and faded to fifth as the beaten favorite when meeting winners following sharp debut win prior; follow off claim by trainer Merryman.

JUDGE CRETELLA: Blasted clear on the pace and stayed in command to best 13 maiden rivals in overdue score most recently; right back with winners in reasonable spot.

FORMALLY JAY: Shot free on early pace, then battled, and gave way to fourth when stretched to seven furlongs for her latest; respect zip for winning Grusmark barn.

A REEL BUSTER: Chased early and tired to fourth in useful debut effort most recently; note, gelding didn’t debut until late in year as 3-year-old and should improve rapidly.

APPEAL TO THE CITY: Rated and rallied for third in her latest, holding sharp form off prior pair of wins; tough 3YO filly has rarely run a poor one.

4*SPECIAL: KEENELAND KID: Showed only late interest once outcome was no longer in doubt for fifth in his latest; proves sharper going forward having turned back in distance for first course try.

LONGSHOT: RETURN THE MONEY: Showed subtle improvement in second lifetime start and can continue the trend as colt bred to improve with distance and/or experience; can surprise.

SLAM MY HEART: Rallied for fourth from wide post in large group and in spite of racing “erratically,” according to chartcaller, in useful debut; juvenile colt to follow.

ROYAL MEDAL: Rallied for a close third in his latest, in a typically solid effort that landed him yet another check; a must in your gimmicks.

HURRICANE TESS: Chased and weakened to sixth in course return from October-break; 20-1 on tote, she has look of very interesting $7,5K-claim for trainer Lay.

MOON SHINE TIME: Rallied for second at 17-1 on tote most recently – an encouraging return to best form in return from break; expect another big shot, maybe not the price, however.

FEISTY RED: Shook free to long early lead only to give way to fourth in her latest, but has previously done very well over this strip; staying on board.

CASE OF GOLD MUSIC: Took turn five-wide and was along for third when sternly tested by allowance foes in his latest; juvenile gelding is a toughie.

PRIZED CAT: Was clearly hurt by wide perch in latest but stayed in hunt basically throughout when an even fifth at one mile in latest; use in exotics at current level.

SEEKING THE HONEY: Can get you the money on the front end in claiming company if able to get a clear shake; under tough pace heat along inside when fifth most recently.

SPIRITED AWAY: Rallied for third from wide post/spot in useful career debut behind clear-cut winner; pricey daughter of Awesome Again only moves forward.

4*SPECIAL: COLTON’S MAGIC CAT: Withstood pace pressure throughout and stayed on for head victory over allowance foes in first start for trainer Talley most recently; takes another.

LONGSHOT: PHONE JOAN: Chased and weakened to fifth in her first start since late-September most recently, and can build upon race; often absent of late, so quick return proves key.
