HORSES TO WATCH

By: AMERICAN TURF CLUB

LAUREL PARK

CONJA: Tried stakes sprint in first start in town by way of Canada and never overcame a tough gate getaway en route to sixth-place finish; moves up in a hurry.

DEVIL CRAB: Has now been second in each of his last two – each time without the best of trips – allowance win definitely past due, he gets one last shot with us.

ED GRAY SPORTS: Never threatened for top prize but did make up a lot of ground on muddy strip to finish fourth in latest; course experience helps, adds value to gimmicks.

HANOVER TOMATO: Chased and weakened in latest, but seven-furlong return from October-layoff should prove nice return; filly has pedigree to perform best at routes.

HARLEY’S ROAD: Chased from outside spot when breaking from widest post in field of 10 most recently, and stayed on for third – just missing second – behind blowout winner in latest; next time.

INDY PLEASER: Rated inside early, swung wide, and gained for third to outrun his 50-1 price most recently; gelding is on top of his game right now and is a must in exotics.

LION AROUND: Cut back in distance for latest, raced wide throughout, and stayed close all the way en route to fourth-place finish; sharper for experience.

RING OF FIREDANCE: Steadied at the break, raced last early in short field, and then rallied from wide spot to finish a close third on class hike in latest; sharp right now.

STARS ABOVE: Chased from wide spot and stayed in close attendance throughout when a close second in latest; quick return now key to gelding who has been hurt by time off of late.

4*SPECIAL: SECRETLY TAKEN: Made the pace and remained clear for maiden win most recently; claimed by sharp S. Klesaris barn, so expectation is acquisition was shrewd.

LONGSHOT: COMEONBEAR: Raced wide and rallied for third through mud in willing fashion most recently and seems improved over the course of his last few starts; value.

TURF PARADISE

BABY CORN: Brings back plenty of checks, and while she doesn’t often grab top prize she remains a worthwhile inclusion in your exotics at a price; moving forward in recent starts.

FLAIR TO SPARE: Rallied from just off the pace to be up in time for game score most recently; veteran perfectly capable of stringing nice efforts together now.

LET ME DANCE: Pressed the pace and weakened to seventh in latest, but will benefit from first meeting with winners; follow lightly raced 4YO off claim by trainer Kumke.

SOLICITOR: Gave an improved effort for third when in from Northern California for his latest; stays on his game for winning Brinson barn (22% in ’06).

TY THE SCORE: Battled on pace and stayed on well to finish a close third in improved effort most recently; good form since return from break late last year, so stay with him.

4*SPECIAL: FIERCE CAT: Cut back in distance, chased and weakened behind hot pace, and finished fifth in latest; come and catch him on the fly next time.

LONGSHOT: MARBURY: Veteran gelding with a touch of class rarely fails to fire a shot and most often offers tote value – just our type; versatile enough to do it all.
