First Kentucky Derby future wager set

Louisville, KY (Sports Network) - The field and the opening odds have been set for the first of three future wagering pools leading to the 2007 Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs. The first future wager will commence at noon (et) on Thursday, February 8 and run through 6:00 p.m. (et) Sunday, February 11.

The future wagering pools allow racing fans to get a jump start on the 133rd running of the Kentucky Derby, which this year will held on Saturday, May 5. This is the ninth year that Churchill Downs is conducting future wagers.

There are 24 betting interests in the pool, 23 individual three-year-olds and the mutuel field. The mutuel field includes any three-year-old not specifically listed.

As in past years the mutuel field is the opening favorite at 7-2. The top listed horse at 8-1 is Holy Bull Stakes winner Nobiz Like Showbiz.

Breeders' Cup Juvenile winner Street Sense is 12-1 in the morning line. Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies champ Dreaming of Anna opens at 15-1.
