HORSES TO WATCH
By: AMERICAN TURF CLUB
TURF PARADISE
FANCY GOLD: Chased the pace from the start, battling head to head for the lead before tiring in the drive to finish third in a quick time, sharp.
HIGH EENA: Saved ground after sitting in sixth early on, had to wait a bit before closing to finish a solid second; ready to roll next out.
HOLLYWOOD D. A.: Trailed to the lane behind moderate splits and then came with a strong close to finish third, should be tough at the same level.
HYATOPTHEHILLS: Chased the pace right from the start, pressed the pace through swift splits and tired to finish third; should improve in her second start off the layoff.
SUPERMAN CAN: Took pressure every step of the way last out through swift splits and tired to finish fourth at 21-1; must respect.
BEST BET: ATTICUS IN STYLE: Was bumped leaving the gate last out over the turf, settled in 9th and then came with a seven wide run to finish fifth; tab with $6.25k claimers.
LONGSHOT: BANK THE GOLD: Closed nicely to finish third last out with maidens on the turf at 76-1, follow this one right back at a price.
HAWTHORNE
BANKRUPTCY BABE: Got away in midpack early on in her career debut, settled in and then closed with a strong run up the inside to get the job done over a very sloppy track; should improve and can score versus winners.
BORROW: Was never that far off the pace last out while racing in third, but didn’t have the punch when it counted finishing a close-up fourth, tab.
JACK OF MY HEART: Raced near the back of the pack early on after being outrun and then closed good ground in the lane to get up for third; can be right there with a pace.
PICO D J ALEX: Was racing off the rail while near the back of the pack and then closed well in the lane to finish third, follow with basement claimers.
SAMSON THE GREAT: Was stalking the leaders from fourth after hopping at the start, made a big move to get into second but tired a bit late, gets there with a clean break at a big price.
BEST BET: TACTICAL SOLUTION: Shipped in from Florida for his last start over a sloppy/sealed track and closed well to finish second to a runaway winner, tab with NW2L $17.5k claimers.
LONGSHOT: WILLBDANCINWITHPRO: Broke running right from the start chasing the favorite early on at 52-1 but then tired to finish fourth, she was D’Q for an incident down the backside but can offer value right back with maidens, especially on the drop.
