HORSES TO WATCH

By: AMERICAN TURF CLUB

MONMOUTH

CABBAGE PATCH GAL: The drop in class helped her cause as she ran on for a good third last out, will be very tough if she can make the lead early going two turns, tab.

ECHO QUEST: Ran very well to finish second last out behind the odds-on backclassy winner but was easily second best, fits at the $7.5k claiming level; gets it done next out.

MESSAGE OF A MYTH: Stalked the sharp pace from fourth early on and then closed well late to finish second to the odds-on winner despite an August layoff, fits with $30k NW2L claimers and must be followed back at a price.

SILVER MOOSE: Pressed a very sharp pace last out down to the half in 43:4 but tired to finish fifth. Hard hitter must be followed right back with similar, turf or dirt.

SISTER SILVER: Four year old filly can run on the turf or dirt but may appreciate the turf more and she continues to improve especially with a troubled second in her most recent start, follow.

URIEL’S TIGER: Took pressure past the quarter last out and was battling head to head right down to the wire only to get nailed late to just miss by a head but was put up by D’Q. Will be a price moving up to the next claiming level.

BEST BET: CARROTS ONLY: Made a big move from fifth to battle head to head with the odds-on winner just missing by a nose; sharp six year old handles all surfaces.

LONGSHOT: CATECHOL: 10yo gelding had a decent pace to run at last out and closed strongly to finish fourth, just a neck and a nose off the place spot, an exotic possibility.

DELAWARE

LOV’EMNRUN: Broke from post one last out in a turf sprint, raced at the back of the pack but did close some ground in the lane to finish fourth at 20-1; follow at a price.

RAVALO: Raced four of five last out behind quick splits but did close well to finish second to a repeat winner in a solid time over a sealed course, sharp.

SECRETINTELLIGENCE: Took a tough beat last out after pressing the pace through very quick splits, taking over the lead only to get nailed on the wire late, solid.

SHMOOO: Got away in midpack last out behind solid splits for that distance and then closed well to finish second to the wire to wire odds-on choice, may benefit from a turnback in distance.

SUPER NATASCHA: Was up against it last out chasing a very slow pace in an off the turf event but did close some ground for third, will be tough to beat next out with that race under her belt on any surface.

BEST BET: IDOLIZER: Four year old gelding was sent right to the lead last out while shipping in from Charles Town, battled head to head for the lead through quick splits and then drew away nicely in the drive for a big win, taken to repeat with better.

LONGSHOT: CITY PROSPECT: Broke well from the gate, was sent right to the lead and set solid fractions before tiring in the drive to finish fifth, needs a drop in class to get the job done.
