HORSES TO WATCH

By: AMERICAN TURF CLUB

PENN NATIONAL

BOYSIK: Was away slowly racing behind some quick early splits and then ran on well to the wire to finish a close-up third; must be respected with NW3L $10k claimers.

COPELAN COUNTY: Was never that far back last out, moved into second on the turn and chased the wire to wire winner right to the finish holding clear for the place spot.

PUSHED: Eight year old gelding has some backclass to call on and most recent fourth closing from well back was solid considering it was a speed favoring surface.

TEN CARAT TENA: Raced three wide right from the start after breaking from post 11 going five furlongs versus NW3L $4k claimers; six furlongs is probably his best distance so stay close.

WILLIE CAT: Raced near the back of the pack early on behind quick splits, made a sharp middle move to get into second but flattened out a bit late to finish third, sharp.

BEST BET: PATTON’S PEGASUS: Put in a nice effort to finish third at 35-1 last out when coming off a three month layoff and is ready to stretchout; follow.

LONGSHOT: LIE IN THE SAND: Was slow to settle when racing at the back of the pack but did make up some ground late to finish fourth in a quickly run race versus NW3L $7.5k claimers; tab.

TURFWAY PARK

ANNA FOREVER: Returned from December-break, and chased the pace throughout and wide on turn and stayed on for second behind easy winner; best stuff does it.

BATTLE AMOUR: Raced outside and evenly when fourth in first start off claim by trainer La Mew; race over this course helps his cause moving ahead.

BRIDLED PATH: Showed the way early but stopped in stretch when eighth of 12 most recently; can do more in upcoming third start of current form cycle.

CARTE: Put in a run to reach contention, but then only managed even finish when fifth in his latest; needs pace and racing luck to set up best late rally.

CLAYVILLE: Rallied inside to pick up third and seems to be improved of late; worth using in gimmicks as he typically offers value.

FIESTY EXCHANGE: Battled inside and gave way to fifth in her latest; in and outer can handle current class level when in the mood, so use.

LOST ON THE RIVER: Battled on pace, raced second in lane, and came on again for victory when first-Lasix in his latest on class drop; builds upon maiden score.

PARTY CRASHER: Battled on the pace from the outside and weakened late to finish fourth in his latest; proven commodity gets back to best stuff on the fly.

SHE’S CHEROKEE: Showed the way early and settled for second in nice effort off brief break; primed for breakout bid now.

4*SPECIAL: TEQUILA BOUND: Rated, put in wide move to lead, and weakened in stretch to finish fourth in her latest; well-bred filly gets maiden score now.

LONGSHOT: UPTON PARK: Raced wide and rallied from well back to finish third on class drop in his latest; worth another play off $5K-claim by trainer Asbury.
