Big Brown favored in Kentucky Derby Future Pool

By: SPORTS NETWORK

Louisville, KY (Sports Network) - Big Brown's wire to wire victory in the Florida Derby was good enough to make him the 3-1 morning-line favorite for the third and final Kentucky Derby Future Wager. Louisiana Derby winner Pyro, who was the 4-1 favorite in the second Future Wager, is the 4-1 second choice this time around.

Trained by Rick Dutrow, Jr., Big Brown registered a five-length win in last Saturday's Florida Derby. He is undefeated in three career starts and is a new addition to the wagering.

Pyro is expected to make his final start before the Run for the Roses in the Blue Grass Stakes at Keeneland on April 12.

Eclipse Award winner War Pass, coming off a last-place finish in the Tampa Bay Derby, is the 6-1 third pick. He closed at 9-2 when betting finished for the second Future Wager.

The mutuel field, which includes all three-year-olds not listed, is 15-1 in the morning-line.

Wagering begins Thursday at 12 p.m. (et) and concludes Sunday at 6 p.m. (et).
