HORSES TO WATCH

By: AMERICAN TURF CLUB

LONE STAR PARK

ISLAND CLUB: Battled between foes and weakened to finish a distant third as failed favorite in her latest; worth another shot off $20K-claim by trainer Bronstad.

MAYCITYSLEW: Dueled inside on the pace and put away challenge to draw clear for victory off claim/freshening most recently; right back for winning Autrey barn.

ME GUSTA YONAGUSKA: Broke slow, put in a wide run, and managed fourth in what should prove useful debut run; expect more early interest from speed-bred newcomer next time.

NURSE DOT: Battled on the pace until inside the eighth pole and paid the price late when she faded to fifth; note, she tried to stretch out for first time and figures to benefit from experience.

PRYING KING: Showed more early interest than usual in latest when he chased the pace outside and came up empty in lane when fifth; has more to give.

RUNFORNAN: Showed improved early interest in his latest when fourth, and is simply a much sharper and better animal since back as fresh face and moved to turf; maiden win next time.

SCARAMOUCHE: Withstood stretch duel on the lead and battled gamely for neck score as winning choice in his latest; nine-time winner stays sharp.

4*SPECIAL: MY PRECIOUS INDIAN: Never really got on track when fourth in below par bid most recently but was cutting back in distance and moving turf to dirt; sharper next time.

LONGSHOT: CROOK’S LAD: Was away slow, lagged early, and put in a wide run to get in the game and finish fourth most recently; needs right set-up, but offers value on tote.

SUFFOLK DOWNS

ALL IN C.J.: Broke slowly and got run off his feet early on turn back in distance for his latest, yet did rally for fourth through lane; all set now.

MAD SCATTER: Held four-length stretch lead and fell apart late when third in his latest; still must respect his early pop with lower-end sellers.

REPENT NOT: Returned from December-layoff for her latest and chased without much success en route to fourth-place finish; note, filly took tote play and should improve.

ROMOLO’S WINE: Pressed the pace wide and gave way when stretched out to mile for his latest, but should be all set now for upcoming third start of current form cycle; value.

THREE AND TWO: Outran his 93-1 tote price in return from break most recently with a nice fourth-place bid in which he showed early interest; something to build on.

TIGER LIKE: Rallied wide from turn and finished with good energy to finish a narrowly beaten second in her latest; fires best yet in upcoming third start of current form cycle.

4*SPECIAL: BILLY’S WEE: Battled on the pace along the inside and gave way to fourth in her latest return from October-absence; proven mare can do more.

LONGSHOT: SKIP TO THE NORTH: Raced wide on the first turn, while in contention, and remained in hunt only to finish second to dominant winner in his latest; his turn next time.
