HORSES TO WATCH

By: AMERICAN TURF CLUB

AQUEDUCT

FINAL STORY: Closed well to finish fourth with $16k claimers going six furlongs and was claimed by the Contessa barn, should handle it well at Aqueduct for new connections.

GOODBYEANDGOODLUCK: Raced well in his career debut to finish fourth in a solid time and will improve second time out the further they go.

JOE CORRIGAN: Broke ok in his career debut but then was quickly outrun racing well back before closing some ground in the lane and running on well past the wire, tab with statebred maiden claimers, turf or dirt.

MIST OF MALIBU: Ran as if he needed the race last out in his career debut, well bred New Yorker should improve off that effort and will be tough right back.

MISTER NOBODY: Broke from post 11 last out, was able to clear the lead through some solid fractions and was run down only very late in the lane to finish third; was claimed by top barn and must respect.

MOCHA SHAKE: Pressed the odds-on favorite early on through decent splits, took over into the lane and held safe to the wire in her career debut, can repeat with winners if properly placed.

MOONLIGHT GAMBLER: Got off to a bad start and then was steadied, made a run up the inside but didn’t have the punch needed when it counted, give him another shot right back at a price.

THE VIN MAN: Didn’t seem to be getting over the muddy track early on but did pass a few horses in the lane to finish fourth, can drop in class and still get a decent price, tab.

TREASURE TRAIL: Half sister to the great ZENYATTA, she was outrun early on going six furlongs, made a big move into the lane and then got tired late to finish fourth, improves off that effort especially with more distance.

BEST BET: WHY WEST: Was extremely wide into the lane after racing last of 12 over the turf last out but did make up good ground to finish fifth, follow right back over the lawn with NW2L $35k claimers.

LONGSHOT: CELLAR DWELLER: Was outrun early on racing in ninth of nine, did make up some ground through the lane to finish sixth at 54-1, follow right back for a barn that does very well this time of the year.

MEADOWLANDS

ELITE MISS: Chased horses while racing in between horses over a sloppy/sealed surface and tired to finish fifth in the lane, follow this one back over a fast track.

FINAL POINT: Closed good ground through the lane to just miss the place spot last out after trailing the field behind moderate splits, tab.

KIZZIE’S GOLD: Chased the pace while three wide early on, took over into the lane and never looked back, can repeat with a similar group.

THE CROONER: Didn’t beat much last out versus maiden claimers over a sloppy sealed surface but did have to race wide and drew away by six lengths in the lane, tab with winners at a price.

YES ITS TRUE SHERY: Was outrun a bit over the sloppy track last out but did close some ground in the lane to finish fourth, in good form right now so follow with $5k claimers.

BEST BET: GORETTY: Broke a step slow, then checked soon thereafter, came with a five wide run but flattened out when it counted in the lane, a better break can lead to a wire to wire score.

LONGSHOT: ELEGANTLY LIT: Trailed the field of seven early on after steadying at the start, came with a three wide run into the lane and finished third at 49-1; price play.
