HORSES TO WATCH

By: AMERICAN TURF CLUB

FAIR GROUNDS

CLEAN SWEEP: Like that barn showed confidence by placing new face in town at MSW level, and colt did managed fourth after being outrun early; shows more speed and overall punch next time.

READY’S ROCKET: Battled on the pace until the lane and gave out to finish a distant fourth in his latest; proven performer is capable of more, so be ready for rebound.

SUMMIT CAT: Made up a lot of ground and altered out late to finish a narrowly beaten third in her debut over a sloppy track; juvenile filly with promise.

TAKING STOCK: Rated, moved to lead, and weakened in lane when third on step up in class following prior win that came off the bench; primed for better try.

TENSAS FLATT: Had rocky start and still gained through stretch to pick up third in sloppy-track debut; 3YO filly has some pedigree appeal and appears one to follow.

WINGS OF JOY: Raced in range on the outside and never punched when in with winners for the first time in return from break following maiden win; won debut on turf, so expect return to the green.

4*SPECIAL: CATERA: Returned from March-layoff and dominated ALW group in off-the-turf dash; can climb class ladder for Asmussen powerhouse.

LONGSHOT: CLASSIC ROBBERY: Spun his wheels when fifth over sloppy track most recently; prior running lines suggest he has more to give in similar spots, so tab for rebound.

TURF PARADISE

ACCEPTED: Proved a willing late runner when second yet again in his latest; giving him one last shot to crack current condition and get elusive second career score.

FLY FANNIE FLY: Couldn’t overcome early crowding in latest sprint and had to settle for fairly even fifth; surprise package for next time with pace/race luck on her side to set up late run.

HESO: Raced with the pace and faded to fifth on step up in class most recently; was making first start since return to Evans barn (29% in ’08), and can move forward.

LA MISMA: Rallied from well back to post win in turf return most recently and can hold currently sharp form in right spots; filly with touch of class and late pop.

LAST CLASS: Managed some late gain to pick up fourth in his latest, and current form seems a bit improved; demand value, and use in gimmicks.

TABLE MESA: Raced in some early traffic and then moved wide en route to acceptable third-place finish most recently; back in win column next time.

4*SPECIAL: KASYNO: Blasted clear early and held margin late for one-length score in 12-horse lot most recently; gelding with some back class stays sharp now.

LONGSHOT: CAPTAIN CANAVERAL: Battled between early rivals and faded to finish third in his latest but is capable of more; very strong overall resume.
