HORSES TO WATCH

By: AMERICAN TURF CLUB

PHILADELPHIA PARK

AMERICAN QUEEN: Rallied wide to be along in time for overdue maiden score in her latest, but can build on initial success; use right back in reasonable spot.

CHASIN CASH: Didn’t have best racing luck (“Steadied, swung wide”) en route to fourth-place finish as failed choice in her latest spin; another shot.

EASTER BONUS: Tipped out, rallied, and drove clear in stretch for latest win over eight opponents off claim by trainer White; takes another.

FIRST OF MAY: Returned to course over which he won four starts back and showed some late interest for fourth in latest; gets pace/race luck to set up late punch.

GANTU: New face in town chased pace throughout and finished strong second in first spin since December; gelding has been in exacta in half of 20 career tries.

SOPHIE’S CROWN: Battled inside on pace and weakened to finish third behind blowout winner in her latest; can lead similar cast at more than fair ticket.

4*SPECIAL: ALYS BABY RED: Opened up a long lead, then battled in stretch and settled for second as failed favorite; respect speed off claim by trainer Bellini.

LONGSHOT: LEIGH’S LAST POWER: Set the pace and weakened to finish third in her first try off claim by trainer Correnti; offers value and early zip, so include.

TURFWAY PARK

BLUE HEAVEN: Battled on pace and stayed on gamely when third in blanket finish most recently; knocking on door for a while, breaks through.

CLASSY KELLY: Showed a bit more early sharpness in latest, but pace was soft, and stayed in range until late stages of fourth-place finish; gets back to rate/rally tempo.

HADAVISION: Rated, rallied, and drove clear for favored win when moved to yet another new racing strip for her latest; gets comfortable around here, so stay on board.

IN MY MIND: Took her second straight since return from break, this time off the pace as opposed to prior on the-the-pace tally; stays sharp in reasonable spots.

IT’S A RAP: Put in a bid for place award behind dominant winner in his latest on drop to claiming company and cut back in distance; next time.

JUMP START NOW: Made the pace and remained clear for win in first start with claiming foes; 3YO colt with some upside.

LOVE THE ARTS: Showed improved early and overall interest in placing in her second lifetime start off brief break; maiden win now awaits lightly raced 4YO filly.

RAID THE PARADE: Didn’t offer much in latest fifth-place finish, but previously held sharp form; bounces back at square price, so give another shot.

SHALE SHAKER: Split rivals and gained late to pick up third in his latest, maintaining sharp form (on board in last six starts if you toss “lost rider” try); must-use.

4*SPECIAL: SNAKEY SUE: Stretched out to one-mile trip in her latest, stayed with pace, took over, and held gamely to finish a narrowly beaten third; benefits from conditioning gained.

LONGSHOT: LOCKBACK: Broke slow and did gain some late but could only manage third of seven in her latest; worth following at price off $6,250-claim by trainer Cahill.
