HORSES TO WATCH

FAIR GROUNDS

 

BELGRAVE SQUARE: Put in relatively even bid for third in his latest, but had outside post (8 of 11) for just his second start since September 2007; breaks out for Asmussen powerhouse.

CUBERA: Rallied wide and from just off the pace to prevail by a head after long stretch bid in his latest; brings touch of class and can take another in current form.

ESCROW: Shot clear on the pace and stayed on to finish second in game try when back from another break; quick return proves the key for rapid gelding.

GALFRIEND: Made the pace and drew out to convincing score as odds-on favorite in her latest when moved to main track for class drop; keeps rolling.

RAMBUNCTIOUSLY: Rallied from well back to finish a close third in productive racing debut; daughter of Petionville with pedigree to develop over time and/or more ground.

TAKE A DAY: Tried to stretch his speed a mile in his latest, battled, took over, and weakened to finish fourth in his latest; makes experience count.

4*SPECIAL: SPIDER POWER: Rallied to be along for second in second straight start since claimed by trainer Scherer; proven performer in exacta in 15 of 35 lifetime trips.

LONGSHOT: WINGS OF JOY: Now has a pair of races under her saddle since back from two-month break, and appears ready for breakout; lightly raced 3YO filly with pedigree and upside.

 

 

OAKLAWN PARK

 

AGASTACHE: Moved outside to nowhere when fourth in his latest, but is capable of more; gelding may simply be run off his feet behind hot pace in latest, but watch on class drop.

EXOTIC INDY: Raced slow early but moved up throughout and finished a fair fifth when back for first start since debut last-July; daughter of A.P. Indy continues to develop.

FAST EDDIE CHARLES: Lagged early, but did pass some tired foes to finish a fair sixth in an improved effort with rating tactics in his latest; 12-time winner rounding back to form.

KIAWAH’S MAGIC: Battled on the pace and stayed on until the late stages when she finished a close third in her latest; eligible to break out in NW2L spot.

MCFADDEN: Chased and gave way to finish a soundly beaten sixth in his latest, but is capable of more; given benefit of doubt, and another shot.

OUR STORY: Raced in range, moved outside, and came up a bit lacking late when a close third in her latest; worth following off $7,5K-claim by trainer Cash Asmussen.

RAMLY: Moved wide and gained third in his first start off claim by trainer Roberts; continues to develop.

WORTHTHEBOTHER: Rated and rallied to be second as the odds-on choice in his latest; proven sort gets back in win column when he gets to hear hooves rattle more early.

4*SPECIAL: STEALIN’ KISSES: Chased throughout and stayed on for third when moved to the main track in her latest; encouraging return to form signifies even better lies ahead.

LONGSHOT: FIRST REGENT: Cut back to sprint trip in his latest, raced wide, and had minor impact for fourth in his latest; sharper for next time.
