Kentucky Derby decision on Advice coming

Lexington, KY (Sports Network) - Lexington Stakes winner Advice is scheduled to arrive at Churchill Downs this week from Keeneland in preparation for next week's $2 million Kentucky Derby. However, a final decision on the colt's Derby status has yet to be made.

"We'll make a decision on Advice (running in the Derby), but the other two (Hold Me Back and Mr. Hot Stuff) are definite," WinStar Farms vice president and racing manager Elliott Walden said.

Advice, owned by WinStar Farms and trained by Todd Pletcher, was the 15-1 winner of Saturday's Lexington Stakes over heavy favorite Square Eddie. Both colts will have different jockeys in the Run for the Roses.

Garrett Gomez who rode Advice will be on Pioneerof the Nile and Square Eddie will be ridden by Corey Nakatani. Edgar Prado gets off of Square Eddie to ride Dunkirk.

Nakatani had the mount on Mr. Hot Stuff before moving to Square Eddie. A new rider needs to be found for Mr. Hot Stuff. Hold Me Back will have the services of Kent Desormeaux in the Kentucky Derby.
