HORSES TO WATCH

By: AMERICAN TURF CLUB

PHILADELPHIA

ENGAGE: Made a middle move to go from third to take over the lead past the ¾ mark but couldn’t sustain that bid and tired in the lane to finish fourth; the price will be right.

K O’S PUFFALUMPS: Took good money for her debut going off at 7-2, chased the pace but tired past the half mile mark and tired to finish last, must give this one another shot in her second start.

MASTER COPY: Broke sluggishly from the rail last out, moved up on the inside while chasing sharp fractions but tired to finish third, a better break will make this one very tough right back.

ON A HIGH CLOUD: Trailed the field of seven last out behind moderate fractions after breaking slowly and then came with a four wide move to score going away; solid mare is taken to repeat.

SAVATRON: Stalked the leaders from fifth last out while racing behind some very slow fractions and then came with an inside move and drew away to score by almost two lengths; must respect right back.

BEST BET: THREETIMESAWONDER: Set the pace through sharp fractions while racing just off the rail, put away those other speed types but couldn’t hold off the favorite late and had to settle for second at 6-1.

LONGSHOT: SWEET RASCAL: Raced three wide while battling for the lead past decent splits and held on well to finish fifth at 84-1; fits with NW2L $7.5k claimers.

TURF PARADISE

AFFIRMIA: Battled for the lead through solid fractions but couldn’t with the leaders and checked in fourth late with $3k claimers; can clear off and score at a nice price.

GOLDEN JIVE: Pressed the pace from the outside from the start of the race, couldn’t get by the leaders and tired to finish fifth at 19-1; price play.

GRIN AND WAGER IT: Stalked the leaders from third last out at 21-1, took on the leaders and took over into the lane and drew off for an easy win, ready for better.

MEET ME AT WILSONS: Three year old gelding chased the pace of the even money favorite in his career debut, took over into the lane and never looked back; ready for winners.

MISS BE BE BLANCHE: Didn’t get much of a pace to run at last out but closed well to finish third behind the favorite at 62-1 and must be used in all exotics next out.

BEST BET: CLIFF DWELLER: Trailed the field in 8th behind solid fractions, made a solid move while wide to take over on the turn and won going away; six year old gelding must be respected right back over the turf.

LONGSHOT: YUKON GOLDUST: Chased a sharp pace right from the start last out but couldn’t get by and tired to finish a close-up third at 63-1; tab at a price with NW2L $3.5k claimers.
